Tim Goodnow, PhD
President & CEO
Dr. Goodnow joined the Senseonics Board of Directors in December 2010 and on March 1, 2011 became President & CEO. Dr. Goodnow was most recently with Abbott Diabetes Care where he was the Vice President, Technical Operations. Prior to that, he held positions at TheraSense, Verax Biomedical, Dade Behring and Baxter Healthcare. Dr. Goodnow has led the successful development of a number of FDA approved glucose monitoring systems and insulin pumps. He holds a PhD and BS in Chemistry from the University of Miami.
Todd Whitehurst, MD
Vice President of Product Development
Prior to joining Senseonics, Dr. Whitehurst was the VP of R&D at Palyon Corp , where he led the development of a next-generation implantable drug infusion pump for the treatment of chronic pain and spasticity. He served as Director and VP of Emerging Indications at Boston Scientific Neuromodulation. He worked for over a decade as an electrical engineer and software engineer in several medical device companies, including Advanced Bionics and SRI International. He holds a MD from UCSF, a MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) from UC Berkeley, and a BE in EECS from Vanderbilt University.
Arthur (Skip) Colvin
Senior Research Fellow
Mr. Colvin has served as lead scientist since the Company’s inception. Mr. Colvin is the inventor of the Company’s core technology, and owner of the corresponding U.S. patent. Before founding Senseonics, Mr. Colvin founded and served as President of Cerex, a private company that provided engineering design services and product development for the biotechnology market, and as a staff scientist and process development engineer for Life Technologies, Inc. Mr. Colvin has developed or led the development of more than 30 products for the biotechnology and food industries. He has more than 50 issued and pending patents. He holds a BS in Biochemistry from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute with graduate studies in Biochemical Engineering at the University of Maryland and the Johns Hopkins University (APL).
Steve Walters
Senior Director of Operations
Prior to joining Senseonics, Mr Walters was Director of Operations for Dye Magnet Industries, a consumer product company, where he helped commercialize a new product. He also participated in the sale of the company to consumer product giant Reckitt Benckiser. Before joining DMI, Mr. Walters was President of Larox Inc., a Finnish owned capital equipment manufacturer. He oversaw the growth of this company for more than 15 years with expansions in the USA, Canada and Mexico. He holds a MBA from Johns Hopkins University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University.
Mukul Jain, PhD
Senior Director of Regulatory and Quality Sciences
Prior to joining Senseonics, Dr. Jain spent 13 years at Medtronic working on active implantable devices in CRDM and Neuromodulation space. Most recently, he was responsible for managing the development of Neurostimulator systems in spinal cord stimulation and sacral nerve stimulation. Prior to that, he held positions of increasing responsibility at Medtronic Energy and Components Center; working on various critical components used across Medtronic’s implantable devices. He holds a MBA from Carlson School of Management (University of Minnesota), a PhD in Chemical Engineering from University of South Carolina and a B.Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
